In a shocking and horrifying incident, a man from Kyanziani village in Kairungu location, Mwingi Central sub-county, has brutally murdered his cousin's wife, Margaret John, and fled with her severed head.

Peter Muvea Musili, 36 years old, allegedly attacked Margaret John, aged 49, with a panga while she was returning home from a nearby shopping center. After committing the heinous act, Peter fled the scene with the victim's head.

However, the perpetrator's escape was short-lived as he was later located by an angry mob approximately 20 kilometers away from the crime scene. Peter directed the mob to where he had hidden the victim's head before being killed by the enraged crowd.

The police retrieved Peter's body while Margaret's head was taken to Mwingi Level IV Hospital, where her other body parts had been collected following the gruesome incident.

John Mulwa, Margaret's husband, expressed disbelief over the unimaginable tragedy, revealing that despite minor disputes with his cousin Peter in the past, he never anticipated such a horrific outcome.

Area chief Daniel Kyumbo confirmed the familial relation between the suspect and the victim, noting previous tensions between Peter and his cousin. He described the incident as gruesome and stated that the police are still investigating to unravel the mystery behind the brutal murder.

Anthony Musyoka, the Kiomo-Kyethani ward MCA, condemned the incident, urging residents to seek peaceful resolutions to disputes rather than resorting to violence and bloodshed. The tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of conflict resolution and community safety.
