Nelson Nduki, the Chief Executive Officer of Super Metro Company Limited, spoke out following a tragic accident that claimed the lives of 17 individuals in the early morning hours. The incident involved a bus affiliated with Super Metro's sister company, Super Coach Executive Limited, specializing in long-distance travel.

In an interview with the media, Nduki expressed the company's condolences to the bereaved families and emphasized that the cause of the crash is yet to be determined. He clarified that the involved bus belonged to Super Coach Executive Limited, which primarily handles long-distance travel.

"We send our condolences to the families. It is very difficult because we have never experienced this, and we have followed all the regulations as per the Traffic Act. We had two drivers. The drivers who were seated in the front seats passed away," shared Nduki with a sense of remorse.

Nduki further emphasized the company's commitment to adhering to Kenyan regulations and explained that this tragic accident was a first for Super Metro. The two drivers onboard the ill-fated bus lost their lives in the crash.

"It is very unfortunate that this kind of accident can happen, particularly to one that is related to our company. We are saddened. We have sent our team there because there are individuals who are hospitalized," he added.

The CEO disclosed that Super Metro has dispatched representatives to the accident scene and is awaiting investigations from the police to uncover the root cause of the collision.

"We do not know what happened. Unfortunately, the drivers and conductors who were seated at the front passed away. They were the only ones who could tell us exactly what happened," Nduki explained.

While Super Coach Executive Limited specializes in long-distance travel, Super Metro Company Limited occasionally covers extended routes outside Nairobi, particularly during festive seasons. The latter primarily operates within the Nairobi Metropolis.

The tragic incident, which occurred as a head-on collision between the Super Coach bus from Kampala and a lorry, resulted in injuries to 53 passengers, as confirmed by Allan Mwangi, the Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer. The company awaits the outcome of the police investigation to provide clarity on the sequence of events leading to the unfortunate accident.
