Musician David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless, has denied having undergone a vasectomy, after he was quoted in a local media interview saying that he had.
In a statement on his social media, Nameless said that he had only said that he was considering undergoing the procedure, and that he had not done so yet.
"Nameless is not seedless," he said. "To be clear, I just said I wanted to go for a vasectomy and I have not done that yet."
Nameless said that his mother had called him after reading the interview, and asked him why he was "blocking his blessings."
"You people have even made my mother call me asking why I am blocking more blessings," he said.
Initially, Nameless had said that he and his wife Wahu had decided not to have any more children, and that he had already had the vasectomy procedure.
"Ah, tumefunga, nimeenda vasectomy. Nimeona ni take things into my own hands," he had said.
However, Nameless now says that he was misquoted, and that he and Wahu have not yet made a decision about whether or not to have more children.
"We have not made a decision yet," he said. "We are still discussing it."
Nameless said that he was content with his three children, and that he did not need a male child to complete his family.
"Closing this chapter without a male child does not affect me," he said. "As long as you have a child who is healthy and you are doing your best, that is all that matters."
