WhatsApp, a messaging platform owned by Meta, has rolled out a new feature that allows users to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute window.

In a blog post, Meta stated that users no longer need to worry about mistakes made in their messages. The post read, "For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp, 15 minutes after sending a message."

This feature will be available globally, and once users update their app, they will have the ability to make changes to their sent messages.

To edit a message, users need to long-press the text and select the edit option from the drop-down menu. It is important to note that once a message is edited, it will display an "edited" label.

With this new feature, users can now avoid resorting to the "delete for all" option when they want to make corrections or changes to their messages.

WhatsApp joins other messaging platforms like Apple's iMessage, Telegram, and Signal that have long allowed users to edit their messages after sending them.

Twitter has also introduced an editing option for tweets, but it is currently only available to users who have subscribed to Twitter Blue.

WhatsApp continues to introduce new features to enhance its platform, including features like reacting to status updates, posting audio as a status, and reacting to messages.
