The Athi River police in Machakos County have launched an intensive investigation into the shocking murder of 38-year-old Ohangla dancer, Sheila Odoyo, widely known as Sheila Wegesha. Her lifeless body was discovered in a horrific state, with deep cuts to her throat, on her matrimonial bed in Hill View Estate.

Despite signs of a struggle in the bedroom, neither Sheila's children nor her neighbors reported hearing any disturbances. Richard Chesebeh, a neighbor, expressed disbelief, stating that he heard no sounds until around 7 am, when the children raised an alarm.

The focus of the investigation has turned to Sheila's 45-year-old husband, Jackson Bamboo, who is currently considered a person of interest. According to reports, Bamboo quietly left their home around 1 am on Wednesday, hours before the discovery of Sheila's body.

The victim's 18-year-old daughter revealed that she found her mother's lifeless body around 1 pm while going to serve her lunch. Bamboo's vehicle, a Mitsubishi Outlander, was later found abandoned in the Kencom area of Nairobi's CBD, suggesting he may have fled the scene.

Authorities believe Bamboo may have switched vehicles and tracked his last signal to Narok. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, with detectives exploring leads suggesting a troubled marriage fraught with suspected infidelities.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, fans of Sheila took to social media to mourn her loss, remembering her as vibrant and passionate about Ohangla dance. Both Sheila and Bamboo were co-owners of an entertainment joint in Nairobi's Umoja area, where they frequently hosted live bands, including Ohangla artists.

The body of the deceased was initially taken to Shalom Community Hospital morgue before being transferred to Chiromo morgue for autopsy, as investigations into her brutal murder continue to unfold.
