Tensions mount in Riat, Kisumu, following the tragic killing of a 42-year-old DCI officer, stabbed to death by a gang on Monday night.
According to reports, the officer was attacked while heading home, sustaining fatal injuries. Rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, he later succumbed to his wounds.
Law enforcement, led by the Sub County Police Commander, visited the scene, initiating investigations. The officer, recently transferred from Thika to Wajir, fell victim to the assailants' brutality.
Additionally, the same gang allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old nearby, who tragically died upon arrival at the hospital.
Reports suggest no robbery motive behind the attacks, highlighting a disturbing trend of violence against law enforcement, as seen in recent incidents across the country.
